Supporting the Next Generation of Ecologists Through Real-World Research
At Thesium, we’re not only committed to delivering high-quality biodiversity offset credits across New South Wales — we’re equally passionate about supporting the future of ecological research.
In collaboration with Macquarie University and through the National Industry PhD Program, we’re proud to support PhD candidate Lachlan McCray as he investigates two threatened microbat species — the large-eared pied bat and the eastern cave bat — found on our offset sites.
Below, hear directly from Lachlan about his research and what it’s been like working at the intersection of science and industry. You’ll also hear from our Managing Director Paul, who shares why this partnership matters to us, what we’re learning along the way, and how this kind of collaboration fits into the bigger picture of biodiversity conservation.
